The scholarships listed below are not all scholarships presented by Black Dental Student & Pre-Dents. All questions, inquiries and submissions should be directed at the source of the scholarship.   • NHSC22

    NHSC Scholarship Program

    The National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC SP) awards scholarships to students pursuing eligible primary care health professions training. In return, scholars commit to provide primary care health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs).

    You must serve at an NHSC-approved site in a HPSA. The total number of years you serve will depend on the number of school years of NHSC SP support you received. (This cannot exceed four school years.)

    The vision of the Golden Foundation is a world where Black and Brown people can excel in career fields that need more representation, and their success is amplified through direct access to resources, capital, and community.

    Our mission is to open pathways to post-secondary success in dental, medical, engineering, and entrepreneur education for students of color through scholarships, resource access, and mentorship.

  • North Georgia Dental Society Scholarship

    Founded in 1913 by African American dentists in the Atlanta area, the North Georgia Dental Society (NGDS) is the local chapter of the National Dental Association (NDA).

    The North Georgia Dental Society Scholarship Program encourages dental students to pursue dental education by providing financial awards to current students enrolled in dental schools. To qualify, applicants must be a member of the Student National Dental Association. Preference is given to students who reside in Georgia, or who resided in Georgia prior to enrollment in dental school. The scholarships are awarded based on criteria included in the scholarship application. Funds are limited and students are encouraged to apply for other sources of financial aid. The scholarship application is included in the attachment below.

  • USNDA (Pre-Dent) Scholarship

    The Student National Dental Association will fund one (1) USNDA Scholarship. Recipients will be chosen by the Student National Dental Association’s USNDA Committee.

    ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: One $500 monetary scholarship will be awarded to one deserving USNDA member. The scholarship will be dispersed in check form and made payable to the recipient. The $500 may be used towards the educational needs and expenses of the recipient’s choosing.

    The chosen USNDA scholarship recipient will be notified no later than June 2024. The USNDA scholarship recipient will be acknowledged at the Student National Dental Association 52nd National Convention held in Las Vegas, NV from July 25-28, 2024.

    Crest + Oral B, along with our esteemed partners (NDAF, NDA & Family Dollar), firmly believes that diversity strengthens our profession and enriches the oral healthcare landscape.     The Crest + Oral B BRIDGES Scholarship Program aims to support promising Black and African American students during their academic training, creating a bridge to drive equal representation among Dental Professionals for future generations.

  • NDAF Scholarships

    The National Dental Association offers a variety of Dental Scholarships. Awards range from $500 up to $20,000. The Foundation supports scholarships for the entire dental team including assistants, hygienist, dental students and Post-doctoral students.

    The commitment of the NDAF is to help ease the cost burden of dental education, while fostering future leaders, and providers for underserved communities.

    ASDA Scholarships, Grants, & Loan Repayment Programs

    The following is a non-exhaustive list of scholarships, grants and loan repayment programs available to dental students. Members are encouraged to do their own research for additional opportunities.

  • DTA Foundation Scholarship

    The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize and provide multiple scholarships in financial support to dental students who demonstrate academic excellence in dentistry; financial need; and a commitment to community service.

    To be eligible, applicants must:
    >be enrolled in an accredited U.S. dental school as a full-time student, entering their third or fourth year in the Fall of 2023.
    >be in good academic standing with the university;
    >demonstrate financial need
    >demonstrate, through personal activities, a strong interest in charitable work and community service; and
    >be nominated by the dean of their dental school or the dean’s designate (no more than one nomination from each school).

  • 2023 BDSPDS' INBDE Bootcamp Scholarship

    Black Dental Students & Pre Dents (BDSPDS) is excited to announce our 2023 INBDE Bootcamp Scholarship opportunity to assist one (1) current Black dental student in preparing for the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE).

    Criteria:
    -Be enrolled in a U.S. accredited dental school.
    -Identify as African American/Black.
    -Deemed eligible (by your dental institution) to take the INBDE in 2023.
    -Must schedule and take the INBDE in 2023.
    -Must be subscribed to BDSPDS’ Website.
    -Submit the completed application.

    2023 Application Cycle:
